The 14.1 update has been released for Toyota and Lexus vehicles, however if you buy the Lexus version of the nav update you can get it for $99. Toyota charges $169. I have a 2008 Prius which i believe uses the gen05 navigation system and i am wondering if the Lexus gen05 nav dvd will work with the Prius. Each Navigation upgrade will be specific to the hardware it is for, so as an example a 2004 to 2006 Navigation upgrade won't work on a 2007 to 2009 Prius, nor either of these work on a 2010 to current Prius, as the display hardware is different.

I have no idea if any of the above is identical to any Lexus Navigation.

Your years are off. On the Prius, GEN4 is 04-05, GEN5 is 06-09.

The color code on their table is the same pink as the GEN5 Prius, so it looks promising.

I'd definitely be interested in the answer to this too. I can't justify $170, but $99 I could probably swing. And IF GEN 5, PT219-GEN05-14, 86271-53029, 464210-2450, Toyota Lexus V14.1 Generation 5 isn't a bootleg copy (which unfortunately it most likely is, since their Gen5 13.1 and 14.1 don't list Prius as compatible), $49 would be even better. However, that site at least says it is a Toyota/Lexus disc covering many models.

This Ebay link shows that the Lexus DVD SHOULD work, as the part # is just 1 higher than this disc - Toyota Lexus Navigation DVD Update Disc Nav Version 13 1 Gen 5 2013 2014 Maps | eBay

This link does not list the Prius, so I suspect copies - 2015 Toyota-Lexus North American Navigation DVD GEN5 v.14.1 U39 | Car Navigation DVD Maps

THIS link DOES list the Prius, and the correct 86271-53029 part # on the pic of the disc - Toyota - NAVIGATION UPGRADE DISC Part Number: 86271-GEN05-14 That is the most promising, and with that I would say it might be worth trying. If you do, let me know how it works out.

Insane that Lexus, the premium brand, is selling it for less than Toyota.

UPDATE - my "local" Lexus dealer (60 miles away) had an order fall through and has one in stock. I'm having them hold it for me through tomorrow, I have some HARD thinking to do on this...

I've used Toyota disks in my Lexus and vice versa. Just make sure they're the same generation hardware. Have you tried craigslist?

Highly doubtful that a genuine 14.1 disc would be available already used, since it JUST came out. Also, many of the postings are obvious copies, which DO NOT work in the 06-09 Prius. I don't know what the hell they did with the DVD drive on the 2G Prius 2G NAV, but GEN05 of other models don't have the same issue. Maybe someday I will luck into a drive from a Toyota/Lexus to try a copy on in my 06 (assuming one exists that has the same plugs).

I tried copying the Lexus disc, the copy didn't work. (EDIT: Just for kicks, I tested the "failed" copy in a non-Prius GEN 5 vehicle, and it worked fine there. Too bad it is an indash unit, rather than an under seat mount like the Prius).

However, the GEN 5, PT219-GEN05-14, 86271-53029, 464210-2450 disc I picked up from the nearest Lexus dealer worked fine.

FINALLY, out of the dark ages, the disc I removed was a 5.1/7.1 hybrid.

Based on your success, I am going to go for the Lexus update DVD in my 2008 Prius.
