Is there a way to disable Smart Key in Primes when going on vacation?

    i don't know the details. it has always taken a special charger to bring the prius batteries back to life. i don't recall any dead li-on batteries yet, so i can't say for sure. just going by history of the nimh battery.

    my guess is that without minimum hybrid battery power, the whole charging system is inactive.

    in the past, the only way to kill a battery was to run out of gas and keep driving on electric until the juice ran out.
    prime will not allow that, so you cannot kill it that way.

    the only other way is sitting inactive too long. i know li-on holds the charge longer than nimh, but there were stories of stored teslas turning into bricks.
