Is there a way to mute the volume instantly?

    When I listed to CDs, it starts where it stopped when I turned the audio off. Same thing if I take a call with BT. Does it not work that way in your car?

    I hadn't tried it. As I said, I was making an assumption, which might be wrong. Sounds like it was. :)

    My CD player also restarts in mid-song. But on this collection of a couple hundred WMAs, there is a very substantial delay between turning on the switch, and getting any sound out, as the player has to sort through the file structure and find where it left off. The Mute buttons lets sound come out much sooner.
