You might consider marking the drain plug for the inverter coolant to see if they just pinch the hoses and replace only the pump or if they actually drain the fluid and possibly replace it. Or you could see if they will let you watch the repair, but, I have yet to see that happen.

Got the car back from the dealer today. They replaced the Inverter Coolant Pump per the recall. Coolant was replaced as well. The Engine Water Pump was replaced free of charge as it was still under my Platinum Warranty (6 year/100K miles). All engine coolant was replaced as well without charge. While they were replacing the Water Pump I had them also replace the Serpentine Belt since I am at 85K miles. Thought it was a good idea so I didn't get charged for labor. The belt cost me $24.

All in a great outcome. Now no need to change coolants at 100,000. As a foot note to all this have you changed the transmission fluid (oil) if not I really recommend you do this even though Toyota do not require it. It is good insurance for transmission longevity. Do not let the dealer sell you a flush and the total cost should be no more than $100. Fluid used should be "Toyota WS".

Yes, I changed the transmission fluid myself at around 50K. Drain and fill. It was super easy.

How many miles until my next coolant change? I read somewhere it's not 100K the second time around.

The next coolant change us not due for 50,000 miles but you could reasonably stretch this given your millage to the normal change service point at 150,000.

Glad to hear you've changed your transmission fluid I would change this again at 100,000 miles.

Water pump is not the only one cause for the coolant leakage!

Who put that faulty o-ring in? I doubt it's the one the factory installed.

it probably was never replaced for 200k miles. it was pretty stuck there.
