True, not as many as the U.S. Air Force, but the IAF has approximately 87-90 F-15s, 238-242 F-16s and 9-10 tankers; certainly enough to carry out this type of an operation.

It would seem we are talking about apples and oranges - you are attempting to define what happened in Syria apparently within the context of Israel vs. Syria; I am contending that there is a larger picture than Israel vs. Syria. Since the principals aren't talking we won't know until they decide to break their silence.

And how do you conclusively know that your little birdie was truly "in the know"? Success has many parents; failure is an orphan.

It comes down to numbers. More (quantity and tonnage) munitions can be carried on board manned assets than unmanned.

I never said that an aspirin factory was targeted. Something was targeted that was protected by the best air defense system the Syrians could afford. What that was, no principal is stating. As far as the mullahs being afraid of Israel and the U.S., they have had a pretty good run of causing both Israel (in the recent Lebanon war) and the U.S. (in Iraq with EFPs) some degree of pain (not terminal, but certainly annoying). One can get over-confident from recent successes. That was my earlier reference to drinking their brand of Kool-Aid.

are you always this nasty or did you just wake up this way today?

Cliff Notes version - it was a nuclear facility that Israel destroyed.

You should work on that interpersonal behavior component of your personality.

Dude, post a link - thats all i was asking. It's generally considered impolite to reference a news article without providing a link so others can read what you read, especially when your comment is nothing more than "Interesting front page article in the NY Times this weekend" - You don't give us any idea what article you're referring to, especially for people who read different publications.

That's not what the DEAWatch mole is reporting.

    "15 Oct 2007, 04:39 1st Edition

    Report from the Front:

    Dear DEA Watch,

Everyone here is very grateful to you all back there for getting the word out about CINC Bush working with Israel to provide intell on his pending air strike on Iran to bring that country into the war. As I reported to you all back on 20 Sep and followed up on 01 Oct, the news media got the word and CINC Bush's secret is now in the open. You all should be hearing and reading in your news that the Israel's hit an empty group of buildings in Syria was a training mission for us to hit Iran, and to innoculate the public in preparation for CINC Bush's upcoming attack on Iran. You all are the best. Thanks for having DEA Watch. I understand that some of the DEA agents are upset that we are using their website for stuff that ain't strictly DEA. But if the DEA boys are too scared or too stupid to use their website those of us here who are fighting a real war just want to keep borrowing it for a while."

    N. Koreans Taped at Syrian Reactor
A video taken inside a secret Syrian facility last summer convinced the Israeli government and the Bush administration that North Korea was helping to construct a reactor similar to one that produces plutonium for North Korea's nuclear arsenal, according to senior U.S. officials.
