I knew the day would eventually come, and it has arrived.
    I need a front cross member for a 2001 Prius. Part# is 15201-47020 or 15201-47021.
    Not available from Toyota (anymore).
Is anyone parting out a Gen 1 Prius?
Yes, I am searching u-pick junk yards, but no luck in my area as yet.
The vehicle runs great; just the northeastern salt tax has taken its toll in upstate NY.
    Thank you in advance!

Followup: Part 15021-47021 WAS advertised as available on ToyotasPartsDeal dot com...
...but when I ordered it, the order was CANCELLED as "not available".
So I am trying to order it from one of the trading companies in Japan.
Good price, but S/H is more than the part price.
No joy with local junk yards or uPick places.
So enjoy this saga as it unfolds.....

Search using car-part.com, front cross member doesn't show as a searchable item.

    Actually,another name is engine cradle.
Search for that item on car-part.com

Search 14613 zip code brings up this pdf list of salvage yards that have an engine cradle, at least the engine cradle search gets you close to which salvage yard has that area of the car not damaged in a collision.

I've had a hard time finding replacement rubber wipers for our Prius' so had to buy from https://www.amayama.com/en and they actually came from the UAE...interesting!
But I searched for both your parts and it's saying "Permanently Out of Stock"
Sparks and McGeorge, also, are not showing it.
You could also check scrap yards and many now have parts on-line but I haven't had to research those sources (yet!) Knock on wood!
Best of luck...maybe someone in here has an old Gen 1 and can help you out.

    Thanks for the pointer....
the risk in finding a local junk yard is that any local part is in the same condition as the one I am replacing - i.e., salt-eaten.

FWIW, I thought that I had located one in Buffalo two weeks ago, but when I drove 100 miles to get it, turns out they misidentified the vehicle. It was a 2009 Prius, not a 2003.

...and given how much show they have in Western NY this weekend, it may be next spring before the part can be extracted....

I've been thinking...if you were crazy enough could you try to fabricate a replacement for this part? Is it just a piece of steel in a very specific shape? Bad news if it fails on the road I suppose. In any case, good luck with the search.

I think the following search is what you want:

(Update) got my part... only had to drive 90 miles to a yard that had one.
It was in surprisingly good shape. Now just waiting for weather to clear to do the repair.
Thanks to all that provided pointers to potential parts, the pointers were extremely helpful.
