Today is the day. The day that those clever little robots in Japan begin to stitch together a Prius Prime just for me. It is scheduled to arrive at the local dealer the last week in December. So, if there are no unforeseen delays, I should get my Prime before the end of the year.

I feel I must make an offering to the Prius gods to improve my chances. I must offer endless praise for the Prius, the Prime, and Toyota. And PriusChat and PriusChat members too! This shouldn't be difficult. You're the best and one of the main reasons I chose to buy this car!

Are you going to the North Pole to take delivery or having it shipped?

  4. Might I ask why you're waiting so long instead of taking advantage of state/national discounts and incentives on overstock?

Didn't want to have to travel over 1000 miles to buy it.

Since everyone else is cheerful and happy for you I wont be;). It will probably be the one container that falls off the ship:eek:. if that happened it would make .....wait for it.... PRIME real estate for coral and sea life. :ROFLMAO:

    Pretty dark comment, isn't it?

And they aren't shipped in containers; they're strapped to the deck on each level of the transport ship with the tires pumped up to just below 50lbs. Note to I want, DO check your tires when you take delivery. All mine were still >44lbs because my dealer's mechanics are brain damaged. Most likely you're dealing with Smart Toyota, so I'd bet that won't be a problem. Pre-congrats on the new car - a month from now.

Curious how you are getting a guaranteed order. I presume it is going to be a 2018.

I put a deposit on a 2018 here in SLC and they said it could be 4 to 6 months before I get the car I want.

Sounds about right. Mine took 3 months, 3 weeks from date of order to arrive at my dealership. Halfway through I had a date of manufacture and date of loading on the ship. A week after that a real VIN#, instead of the placeholder VIN, was printed up and handed to me -- which turned out to be real. An actual delivery date prediction gets fuzzy since seas, unloading times and ground transportation can greatly vary.

It's a Blue Magnetism. It can hold on to the deck by itself. Of course the whole ship could go down, but the Prius gods wouldn't let that happen.

It's about the same here. I put my deposit down 3 months ago. The only thing they can't guarantee is the exact timing.

This is from the Atheist. I had better step up my game. :D
