I went electric for all my law & garden stuff.

Went with the "ECHO" brand ( NOT 'Ego' )...the orange 'prosumer' brand.

    eFORCE™ | ECHO-USA.com

One cautionary note about battery operated lawn equipment. I was really ticked off with them a while back because they switched out their entire electric line with a new battery footprint...and *nothing* was compatible...and you couldn't find batteries for the old line.

Well...I complained...and ECHO replaced my entire line for free. Absolutely amazing customer service there. They basically admitted they had not thought through how much of an impact the changeout would have. I suggested they at least should have had a 'tradeup' program of some sort...

Huh ... my 21-inch Ego (not self-propelled) was around $400 when I bought it 2¼ years ago. I'm seeing a $349 price at lowes.com for a store in Indy, $399 at amazon.

I'm thinking of getting a corded-electric chainsaw, they're only about $100. Quite a few options on Amazon. Our "shrubs" are getting outa control...

I'm using a (corded) recip saw with a pruning blade, but it's a bit overwhelmed by some of the bigger stuff, and the back-and-forth nature can start loosening your fillings when it catches.

I've had a corded electric chainsaw for a while now. It's a big upgrade over the reciprocating saw that I also use, now that I have "lent" out my chainsaw, but may never get it back. But that's another story...

That is something I considered because there's nothing stopping them from just not offering batteries anymore whereas a gas tool you can always find gas for.
It took a few passes because mostly it got pushed down instead of cut, but the mower never bogged down.

I think I only had 3 or 4 of the 8amp batteries in that day and they did it all. It comes with 6 but I didn't realize until I got home they had given me the 80v charger set instead of the 60v so I was charging 2 at a time in the slower chargers that came with the pole saw and weed whacker.

Fully charged with all 6 it's able to cut my whole yard around the house and it only gets down to 60%. I even gave it a go in the horse pasture that was pretty weedy and even higher. It didn't bog down but it also pushed it down so not much was getting cut. I did a pass with the tractor brush attachment then used the Greenworks to spread some hay seed.

My SO 'hit' something that stripped the plastic tabs holding the blade to the bottom of the motor fan. So I drilled and installed four machine screws with nuts and loctite. Yes, I ordered the parts kit but it is on back order.

Front yard done, now for the back yard.
