Japan has now shut down the last of its reactors, and may no longer be using nuclear power.

it also read that they are asking to restart some other nuclear plants.?

i hope they do not overreact and will fail and so others can point out that there is nor way out off nuclear power for now
i hope they will get the job done!!

Yes. The article says Japan is not using any nuclear power at the moment, for the first time in 40 years. Apparently a few reactors are ready to be restarted, but that requires local approval, and public opinion is very much against it.

Fukushima vegetables mutated in viral photos, possibly due to radiation

2 years after nuclear disaster, Japan spawns freaky veggies [UPDATE]

It might be wise to steer clear of vegetables from Japan's Fukushima area for, oh, say a few hundred years. A Korean website assembled this image collection of produce from towns and villages surrounding the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. And they are NOT pretty pictures. From Siamese-twinned corn cobs to what can only be called peaches with elephantiasis, the region's agriculture appears to have taken a heavy radiation hit from the nuclear disaster in 2011. It's not clear yet what effect eating the produce might have on the population, but you never know. It could be pretty dangerous, but you never know — in an ideal world, maybe it could give you superpowers. [Source] [Source]
CORRECTION: A post on a website in Japan reports that these images aren’t related to the Fukushima disaster. We regret passing along the misinformation.

    Thread resurrection...

60 Minutes on 11/25/18 ran an interesting story on Fukushima and some of the robots being used to go inside the reactor buildings where it's too dangerous for humans.

I think Robots come to the rescue after Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster has all of it. I'm guessing it'll eventually end up behind a paywall.

Indeed. I did a quick Google search for tepco fukushima and found Fukushima Daiichi Decommissioning Project | TEPCO. There's quite a bit of info there and I won't have time to go through most of it for awhile.
