    It's about the frickin OS, and if you think about it for a second, it's probably true.

    I can't believe you are so arrogant that you can't believe that engineering in these areas can't happen outside of the US, and POUNCE on Maggie for posting an article for you to read, and assuming that she's arguing with you.. GO YOU, JOHNNYCAT.

    Getting back to the original subject ("Japanese engineering superior to ours"), I think trying to rate any subject by nationality is pretty useless.

    However, I've decided a fair way to answer the question:
