    HEY PRIUS CHAT FOLKS !!!

    :):):):)

Hope everyone's having a great Thanksgiving Week so far !!!

Stopped by the local JStyle Auto Accessories store at the Mitsuwa Marketplace in Costa Mesa, So Cal today and browsed around ...

Saw several items I thought were real nice to pick up that would add to Safety in my commute ...

The Next Mod is the "CARMATE SUB MIRROR"

With our big C-Pillar and it's blind spot, this added Sub Mirror helps me keep better awareness of my surroundings on both sides of the vehicle. It is a nice wide and slim design to give you a better panoramic view in your peripherals !!!

Already out of the box !!!

    And AFTER installation !!!

AND the NEXT item is the "SEIWA COMPAC ROAD POLE"
The Road Pole is also commonly seen on the Big Semi Trucks. It's position lets you know where in proximity the opposite front corner of your vehicle is. Helps tremendously in tight turns and parking !!!

    BEFORE installation

And AFTER (The Pole is Height Adjustable, pictured below the pole is set on the lowest setting.)

    Happy Turkey Week !!!!

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea.

I think it looks better in person than in pictures actually.

It does turn some heads on the freeway !!!

    Happy Prius Modding !!!

Because of my seating position, the hood design, and the Five Axis Lip Kit, I wanted to safeguard the investment !!!

"VIP Junction Produce Brand Neck Pads/Pillows"

The only problem with the placement of these neck pads/pillows is that it could cause severe whiplash, if not neck injury, if you have a head-on or rear-end collision. To my understanding, the headrest as originally designed in the Prius is to minimize neck and head injury. You just have to adjust the headrest correctly.

    HELLO TREET007 !!!

    :):):):)

Some of the items, including these neck pillows, on my Prius is for demonstration and car show purposes only. I participate in local car shows here in Southern California to display sponsor products.

Thank you for the information. I believe that during impact, to help further the protection for the driver the Prius headrests also move up and forward slightly to aid in the prevention of whiplash.

    Thanks again !!!

    Indeed.

Not sure. All the covers I've seen are the standard silver colour.

    HEY PRIUS CHAT FOLKS !!!

    :):):):)

I was fortunate to take part in the "10 Years of Prius Celebration" in Malibu, Southern California on 10-10-10.

It was an amazing time out there meeting with some great folks within the Prius Community, the Toyota Community, the Sustainability Community, and many other great people !!!

Here is a post of pictures I took from that event here ...

I was able to locate a couple of the commemorative "10 Years of Prius" Emblem online and I received my shipment recently. Today was the perfect day to get them on the HB II Ride !!!

    Evening PRIUS CHAT Folks !!!

    :):):):)

Just completed installation of some great new items for the HBII Ride.

First off I wanted to see what it would look like if I did a Dry Carbon Fiber Backing behind both the Front and Rear Emblems.

Then, I added some LED 6000K Daytime Running Lights for Safety.

Here are the pix of the Installations Before and After ...

Dry Carbon Fiber Backing of the Emblems ...

    Before ...

The Dry Carbon Fiber Vinyl ... This is a very high quality material !!!

Thanks to several great Prius Chat folks here for their informative write-ups and DIYs on removal and installation of these Emblems !!! This was a quick and easy modification !!!

And now for the Audi / Lexus Style LED 6000K Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) !!!

    The Packaging ...

    During Installation ...

These are mounted inconspicuously underneath the headlamp housings !!!

    After Installation

As you can see they are hidden underneath the Headlamps so they installed real Clean and out of the way !!!

    And VOILA !!!

Because I used a flash on my camera, it masked the actual brightness of these LED DRLs ... They are quite bright in person !!!

Overall I was very pleased with both of the new Modifications to the Prius that afternoon / evening ...

A quick note on DRLs :

    - They improve safety because they increase the visibility of your car to oncoming traffic.
    - LEDs have a low power consumption.
    - LEDs have a long term performance life.

    Happy PRIUS Modding folks !!!

Rodney makes every one of our Priuses look like a sack of s***. And here I am wondering how to do a simple LED interior retrofit.

Your car speaks for itself, bro.
