    For most people it's a joke. For Rodney, I would not be surprised if it wasn't though. Seriously though, as much as I love his car and think it's one of the best Priuses ever, it's kind of funny and pointless if its just as slow as the rest of ours, haha. An engine swap would be cool.

    Lol the Prius is built for show purposes though. I can't imagine an engine swap though for anyone lol...you'd have to rip out pretty much everything in the car.

    Btw Rodney...did your neck pads break in or are still hard?

    The real question is, if motor swap were to happen, what would go in instead? Some what related note, someone already did a full K-series swap into Honda CR-Z. Can't think of a late-model Toyota motor thats up to par though.

    Does the Shift knob mount directly on to the OEM threaded stick?

    I want to get a new shift knob but I kinda want a direct swap screw in.

    I am impressed with the Eco/Hybrid conscious SSR line for sure ...

    Do you have any favorites ??

    It'll be a year until I decide to go a different route with the wheels, these Five Axis wheels I am running are really great, lightweight, and complement the HB II Ride !!!

    In regards to the MoonEyes Shift knob ...

    01. There is a plastic sleeve inside the Ball that allows it to slide directly onto the Shift Pole.

    02. There is a hex screw (with the tool included) that is used to tighten the Ball onto the Shift Pole.

    03. The Ball is very secure and there is no movement once you have tightened the hex screw.

    I know you are looking for a Direct Swap Screw in type of installation. This may not be what you are looking for. Unfortunately I do not know the size of the Thread that you will need to assist you in your search, you may be able to do a "Google" / "PriusChat" search that may help you.

    This is NOT A MODIFICATION but rather a MAINTENANCE issue I wanted to share as this was ...

    HB II's FIRST OIL CHANGE !!!

    Many many thanks to the Prius Chat folks on here for their DIY, experience, stories, and help in regards to the GEN III Oil Change post here ...

    After reading through the post in it's entirety, and I suggest you do so as well if you're interested, I felt very comfortable with the installation !!!

    There are several points to keep in mind prior to installation ... some of the Questions and Concerns in regards to the following were addressed. Again, please read the post to it's entirety as it is a wonderful resource.

    Some of the Concerns other Prius Chat Members had included:

    01. The usage of an Aftermarket Synthetic Oil vs Toyota Synthetic Oil.
    02. The weight of Oil - 0w20 vs 0w30.
    03. The amount of Mileage between Oil Changes.
    04. The usage of Ramps vs Jack Stands.
    05. The usage of an Autozone Filter Wrench vs a Toyota Recommended Filter Wrench.

    And after Reading Everyone's experiences, testimonies, and suggestions, here is what I went forward with. (Please keep in mind, based on what I have read and decided this worked well for me.) Individual preferences vary and are Respected. Should you have any technical questions please refer to that post.

    The purpose of this post is simply to present what My experience and decisions were. This is by no means what I feel you should do for your Prius. That is strictly up to you.

    Here is what I concluded and used:

    01. I used Mobil 1 Full Synthetic Oil
    02. I used 0w30 Weight of Oil
    03. I changed the oil at the odometer reading at 6000 miles (This is the vehicle's First Oil Change)
    04. I used Jack Stands
    05. I used a Toyota recommended Oil Filter Wrench (64mm x 14)

    Other tools used:

    01. Socket Wrench
    02. 14 mm Socket
    03. Screw Driver
    04. Basins
    05. Towels (Terry Cloth and Microfiber)

    1st - This thread is extremely informative and inspirational! Thanks for your contribution to the Prius community

    2nd - It looks like I'll be going with your wheel/tire/suspension set-up. I'll be doing the wheels in a different finish, but I'll go with the same size tire and springs. Here is my question: Have you experienced any "rubbing" with your set-up? 5 Axis runs a 215-40, but like you I want to go with a 225-40. Like you, my Prius is my daily driver family car - I don't want to deal w/ any "rubbing" issues - What are your thoughts?

    As far as the Wheel/Tire/Spring set up I do NOT experience any "rubbing" !!! With the set up from Five Axis, it is designed to be "Daily Driven." I think with you will be very pleased and happy when you go this route !!!

    Have you already priced out the items you needed ?? If not, let me know and I may be able to help you out !!!

    Hahahaha...NiMHrod.. that's a good one!

    I think hypermilers should get more than 50mpg lol. That sticker should read "I hypermile and get 60mpg" at the minimum.

    HAWAIIANBUILT - Thanks so much for the response.

    It looks like everything is moving forward. Wheels/Tires will be ordered tomorrow. Debating on Hankook Ventus V12 or Falken 912...You went with the Falken - What was your decision process on your tires?

    Also, the Tein H-techs are coming in tomorrow and I may be able to have them installed. I'd like to make sure the installer is up to the job. Is there anything that Ross at Midnight Garage did to make sure they were installed correctly? I guess what I am asking, is there any tips or advice unique to installing springs on our Gen III Prius? For example, I read a DIY from someone on here that showed removal of the windshield wipers and cowl to access front struts - Was that necessary for your install? Anything else I should know?

    Again, your insight and comments are greatly appreciated. I've been following this thread since it just began and I am just now posting. Think about all the other people that have read your thread and been inspired or learned from your thread besides the people that have actually posted - this is an example of how the internet is great! :D
