    HEY TIDELAND !!!

    :):):):)

I will be switching the provided Halogens with the HID Yellows ASAP !!! And will be posting PIX ASAP TOO !!!

Personally, in my opinion I like running Yellow Foglamps HID or NOT because in the fog the Yellow Beam is more of a contrast and doesn't reflect / bounce back as much as a WHITER Bulb. In my opinion I think it is a safer bulb when driving in Fog or Snow.

And because the foglamps are encased in a non-projector housing, if you were to go with an HID setup I would recommend 35 Watt HIDs and not 55 Watts. I think because they are not in a projector housing (unlike the Prius II-IV) , it tends to be more of a Spot type of Foglamp which can actually blind oncoming drivers. That's my opinion.

ASK AWAY !!! We're here to help each other buddy :)

    HOPE THIS HELPS !!!

    HEY PRIUS CHAT FOLKS !!!

    :):):):)

NEW UPDATES on the HB II BUILD !!!

    10-18-10

Met up with my buddy ROSS from MIDNIGHT GARAGE out in Buena Park, So Cal to install the much anticipated TEIN H TECH LUXURY SERIES LOWERING SPRINGS !!!

**QUICK NOTE: I was recommended from FIVE AXIS to utilize the TEIN H TECHS because this vehicle is my DAILY DRIVER. It is by no means an AGGRESSIVE DROP in my opinion. On my previous vehicle I was running a 2" Drop. These TEIN H TECHS are a god send if you don't want too aggressive a drop. At 1.5"F/1.4"R Drop the ride quality in my opinion is comfortable. I didn't want to sacrifice comfort !!! These Springs however are still quite a Bold statement !!!**

    AND SO, LET'S BEGIN !!!

Rolled into MIDNIGHT GARAGE that evening !!!

Wow it was so high !!!

Nice. I was thinking more of halogens (mostly for ease of installation). I know HIDs can give me a bolder yellower colour than halogens...

Not to hijack this thread, but I have halogen yellows on mine. Although they are not quite as bright as Rodney's HIDs, I think they do an excellent job of illuminating the road. The HID lowbeams tend to wash them out a bit, but not bad otherwise.

Rodney: Hey I have a question, Where do you think I could get these
front bumper add on's. It looks like a 2 piece kit that adds a bit of a aero kit to the front end with out having to do the full Front Lower Aero kit. Im very intrested in getting a set of the for my V. Thanks in Advance Grant[IMG]

Nice! Love the drop! Will the springs settle even more after a few weeks? And how is the clearance? I read that the front end is already bad at stock height. I wish I could lower the future prius but we take a lot of family trips and I'm not sure if that would be a good idea lol.

What hid kit did you go with for the fog lights?

    HEY TIDELAND !!!

    :):):):)

Halogens are the way to go as far as ease of installation !!! You can also look for aftermarket Halogen replacement bulbs too !!! No need to install the HID Ballast System.

Keep us posted on your progress !!!

    Happy PRIUS Modding !!!

    HEY JORDANR !!!

    :):):):)

Thanks for the kind words buddy, I'm really enjoying the drop too !!!

As far as spring settlement is concerned I've heard mixed reviews as to whether or not they will remain or continue to lower the vehicle. I will keep a look out on my set to see for sure and let you know in any case in the next several weeks !!!

The stance of the Prius does look alot more aggressive, you may need to purchase the New Sienna Van so you can lower your Prius for your own personal enjoyment !!!

As far as the HIDs you can contact DEAN at O-NEX in the city of Industry, So Cal at: (626) 616-0497.

Tell him I sent ya !!!

I am running the 6000K in the Headlamps and the 3000K in the Foglamps. They are BOTH using the H11 Bulb in the Slim Ballast fitment.

    HOPE THIS HELPS !!!

Hawian, I have the same exact headlight and fog light set up as you.

I'm contemplating doing 4300k Highbeams 55W. Are you going to change your highbeams? I would def love to see pics on how blinding it is and how much it illuminates the road.

What I'm worried about is the kit getting too hot, cause the housing for the hi beams get way hotter than the low beams.

I know I lose the functionality of giving people a quick flash to let them know they've cut me off or to let them know they can turn etc.

But I think the thought of putting a second sun on the road is cool haha

    edit:
Just noticed you mounted the fog light ballasts exactly where I mounted them haha I thought that was a good spot. I was worried though kinda, cause the ballasts are actually hanging and not laying down or anything so they could be prone to falling off when hitting speed bumps etc. time will tell.

I'd like to see how this would work. I'm sure I could just google but feeling lazy lol. Sounds expensive to go this route...wouldn't the hi/low hid kits be cheaper?

HEY THERE MY TWIN STRIKE67 !!!

    :):):):)

As far as the 4300K 55W HIDs for your HighBeams, unless you drive with them continually on I don't forsee the heat factor being an issue. As far is a quick flash to let folks know that you're there, then I think it should be ok. That's my opinion.

And as far as the mounting location for the Fog Light HID Ballasts, the ballasts are secured with a real strong 3M Double Sided Molding Quality Tape. I don't forsee any problem as far as the Ballast falling from bumps on the road. However I will keep an eye out in the next several weeks.

I'd like to see pictures of your Prius !!!

    Happy PRIUS Modding !!!

    Hope this helps !!!

    HEY THERE JORDANR !!!

    :):):):)

Because both the Low Beams (H11 size bulb) and High Beams (9005 size bulb) are separated in their own section of the headlamp housing, there's no way (unless you modified the housing and wiring) to have a dual filament hi/low HID Kit in one single bulb (like an H4 bulb).

In my Scion xB both the Low and High Beam Lights were in one bulb (H4), it was way cheaper !!!

But the Prius set up separates the two bulbs standard !!!

Wow now you have me thinking of ideas ... maybe modify the housing/wiring to utilize 4-H4 Bulbs ??!!

If you find anything online or come across something different, I'd like to know too !!!

    Hope this Helps !!!
