I couldn't wait. Here's the screen shot from Trip B which I reset when I filled the tank the day after I got the car.

    IMG_2552.JPG

So ... about 470 mpg so far this tank. I've driven it at least 20 miles in HV for experimentation, so I don't know what the potential is yet.

One thing I"m noticing a lot compared to the PiP. Since my distance to work was so close to the EV range, I was often working and wondering over whether I'd make it in hot or cold weather w/o the ICE. That's totally gone now. I'm very relaxed.

Your speedometer shows both speed numbers at once? I noticed the 0 mph in the lower left.

Just in case anyone needs it:

    235.2/mpg (US) = liters per 100 km

    And:

    235.2/liters per 100 km = mpg (US)

Yup. That’s new for this gen. For me, it’ll be km/h in small font when I switch to mph.

That must be a Prime thing or a change after my early 2017 Prius.

Gee! I hadn't noticed that. Guess I should pay more attention.

I did wonder how much rounding went into that 0.5 L/100km number. I checked it with the odometer and, since I had reset it when I got the car because the numbers from the PO were so depressing, it was reading 0.8 L/100km. So I guess it does round to the 10ths. Had I checked it when I got it, I'd guess it would have been around 4.5 L/100km based on the Eco Diary.

The date of first service for mine, according to the Toyota owners website, was February 4, 2017. I don't know when they started selling the 2017.5 models, but I'd think it would be later than that. So, maybe a Prime thing? Is there even such a thing as 2017.5 for Prime?

It's not something I'd used very often. What I would use, though, is a way to make it stop popping up those messages over the HSI telling me the same thing it's already told me a thousand times before. It's like those warnings on DVDs telling you that you'll be skinned alive if you copy the disk. Over and over and over and over, they tell you. And you can't fast forward or skip. At least with the MID messages, you can hit the back arrow. Nothing like excess wear and tear on a button! <Rant off> I suppose I'll eventually learn to ignore them.

maybe? I can’t verify since our 2016 was built before they implemented the ability to change units.

I don’t know about yours but doing so doesn’t just change the speedo and FE units. It also changes the trip odo units and the nav instruction units (that used to be separate). So in imperial, the nav instructions will be in yards and miles rather than metres and kilometres.

Yes, they are aggravating. It's been 2 years and 2 months for me and I'm still not used to them. I hope the back button doesn't wear out.

You can disable SOME of the messages, bit not enough IMO. They wwre so distracting on my first dark drive home, I got to see the Coffee Cup :(
If something pops up over the Hybrid System Indicator, i must be severely critical, right?:mad::mad:

IMO those popups should be limited to the critical ones like the panic STOP! message.
It is not usually critical I know that the cruise control just saw a car ahead of me.

I just looked quickly and did not see the popup customization options in the Prime manual.
I will check my manual when I get home. Failing that, I can look at my car & report the menu options.

The pop ups for the DCC can't be modified even by Carista.

I remember my first outing in the navy, on port lookout, going up the coast near an airport. About every coupla minutes a plane of some description would be going by, and I dutifully reported them all to the officer on the bridge. Somewhere around the 5th or 6th report he told me: "unless they look like they're approaching to land on the aft deck, don't worry about any more plane reports".

I've spent quite a bit of time trying to find out how to make them go away. Only way I've found is to throw out the baby with the bathwater and turn off the display. Well, that ain't happening!

I like the bird cage cover concept though: frustrated little budgie under the cover, still barking orders. :ROFLMAO:

In my Prius I disabled some of the "instructional" popups when you turn DRCC on.
