Jetta beats Prius V5 in mileage performance

    I think that it would probably be better if they drove the entire trip in using the same car, computed mileage, filled up and then returned in each other's cars, and computed mileage again. All with the understanding that they didn't' need to 'stick together', to avoid any pacing influencing the results.

    Yep - a hit from both short trips AND cold/winter trips. EPA on Jetta is 30 combined, and Prius v is 44 combined. All to quick, drivers want to presume it MUST be defective equipment ... rather than just understanding that there are rules of physics going on. Maybe after nice temps start, he'll come back and say, "oops" ... we'll see.
