Jump start battery pack cables too big

Yes because they want you jumping at the source where the battery is the terminal tops are etc If you're going to do that you might want to try and get some kind of a piece of copper with a angle cut in it that you can try to slide up onto the little stud if there's one in the fuse box and then take it off when you're done so it's not sitting there sticking up all the time and then it might interfere with the fuse box cover are you jumping the Prius this often maybe it's time to just get a battery I have a noco GB 70 and having hooked it to the Prius I don't think since I've had it the Prius or the noco.

 

absolutely. just buy an alligator clamp the right size then clamp the jump box to it

 

On my old gen2 I had a threaded standoff that fits the threaded bolt on the positive fuse box terminal. I kept it in ziplock bag with instructions inside the fuse box cover.

Is the battery itself easily accessible on that model ?
If so, you can always jump it directly on the battery posts.

 

No because a dead battery means the hatch does not work. The battery is under some panels in the rear corner.

With my gen2, I carried the threaded spacer and a cheap $15 set of jumper cables with small clamps stored behind the folding rear seat for easy access.

Later, a lithium jump pack replaced the jumper cables. Having the lithium jump pack serves a dual purpose. The second use is helping others without risking a reversed polarity jump on the Prius.
