Toyota's incentive for NE region now $3125 through July! That's $625 more than I received in June

wow, that's insane! they reallocated prime inventory to other parts of the world causing a shortage here in june, resulting in a dip in sales.
and yet, they up the rebate because they're rusting on the lots in the northeast.
    what's wrong with this picture?o_O

Wow! Worth a trip for many to buy out-of-state. Still $1000 here in California and in a reversal of recent month trends, the local dealers seem to have far fewer on the lot. They must need to make state mandates in the NE pretty bad.

Wow, $3500 in NY too. I searched for Maine and assumed the rest of NE would be the same

Yes... it... WOULD be! But, alas... just Friday, a sales supervisor at the dealership where I ordered ours has ASSURED me that ours is to be built "very soon", and it "should" be arriving late-August to mid-September. I don't think I'll be getting any cash-back or "special deal" or anything (fed tax credit maybe... if that remains in effect)...

...but I really HATE the idea of telling them "no... no sale" now... MOSTLY because I'm planning to take the Prime there for service in the future (I absolutely DESPISE the Toyota dealership here in town). It's probably NOT a good idea to "shaft" the dealership at this point in time, and then expect them to "properly" service the car in the coming years.

I may just have to let one of my sisters know about these deals in the NE, though. She's in NY (up-state) right now, drives a 2010 Prius (largely because of what I was saying about how satisfied we were with our '08), and so she MIGHT consider trading-up now with such incentives!

A couple of thoughts: 1. The primary reason I bought a Toyota is that I never have to take it to the dealer for service. My 99 Tacoma and my wife's 2000 Lexus are in that category. 2. Rather than "shaft" the dealer, I would print out a copy of what is available on the East Coast, have a face to face with the sales manager, and ask him frankly what he would do if he were me. If you are giving up 10% of the cost of the car, he should be aware of it and may want to do something for you.
