Not sure if this is what they were talking about, but now when you goto Build Your Toyota at the top of Toyota.com, you can build a 2010 Prius

Wait, as I try doing it it has the options for the 2010 yet says 2009 :D Guess I got them while they're still working on it?

Also, engine size is still listed as 1.5 Liters...

    Paradox,
You win the prize! Whatever that is, but perhaps pride that you were the first to notice -something new there- and post it.

Sure looks as if they're in process. Perhaps they could use some assist from some of the 'geeks and geekettes" on this forum (with all respect). The Build Your Prius has a '10 image, but inside it's '09.

Yeah, the sills are pricey IMO, saw that before and wrote them off then.

Ok, I should note the prices listed are with installation... I want to see how much those door sills will be then w/o installation.

Hey, if anyone's noticed I'm really into those illuminated door sills, maybe a set of them can be the prize Prius Team! ;) J/k, take it easy!!!

I wonder how long that vehicle build thing has been like that and we all just never noticed it... I hadn't clicked on it all freaking day!

Shows you're getting a 1.5 liter. So you got the engine downgrade option? :)

Guess the site is still a work in progress.

Take a look at the picture I posted with the accessories, it's like a 3m type clear adhesive film that goes kind of halfway up the hood and protects the hood from rock chips etc.

I was trying and trying to get into the "Build your Prius" - and every time the '09 version comes up.... then recalled a few mentions here about the different sales regions in the U.S. I'm in FL and in the SE region - heard they may have different (can you say higher...) pricing. So...I plugged in a Chicago zip code in the home page and - bam...got into the Build area. Should be interesting to check out regional pricing differences. Now I'll build a Midwest my-car....

The paint protection film is (I think) made by 3M. If you search for clear bra on google, you will get an idea of what it is.

And retail on the door sills is $269.00 not installed.

FYI, those prices assume installation at port, or PPO items. If you do them afterwards, expect the prices to be a touch higher due to dealer labor rates. In other words, if you want them, have the dealer change your order if possible. They can do that at anytime before it ships.

You're right... I didn't notice but when I used my zip code and entered a Prius V the only option I had available was the Advanced Tech package. So then I used a zip for Sacramento California and it showed me for the Prius V an option for the Navigation and another option for the Advanced Tech. I wonder if they really will force people in this area to get the advanced tech in order to get navi on a Prius V...

Thanks Jeff, if I do decide to do it now I think I'll definitely save the money and just do it myself especially at a minimum of a $90 savings...

The only thing I would caution you on is being able to access the panel where the switch goes and the extra wiring involved. If you are like me, I don't mind tinkering with that, so it is no big deal to me. I think every car I had I have customized in some way. :D

Thanks Jeff, I got a one day pass to that Toyota site and got all sorts of manuals etc, one being the installation instructions for the illuminated door sills. It's a pretty straight forward install, but like you said for one who doesn't mind tinkering with these kind of things. I for one actually enjoy it so no biggie...

I believe it's the 3m like clear hood and front bumper protector that up until now has been a third party part.

A few cars ago, I had an eclipse convertible. I switched every light I could find in the car (excpet headlights) over to LEDs. Everything had to be re-wired. I wired it so when I remote started the car, the top and windows would go down automatically. Unfortunately, I took the dash apart so many times, by the time I hit 90k miles on it, it sounded like nuts and bolts in a coffee can!

My Build Your Prius shows the 2010 interior not the 09. Maybe they fixed it already? But it still shows the engine as 1.5L
