Just hit 5000 miles. Anyone rotate their own tires?

The tires should be rotated front straight back (drive wheels) and the back wheels criss cross to the front. This would be the recommended rotation pattern.

This way a tire will have been at each wheel postion in four rotations.

I would go with what the tire manufacture says, because toyota won't be backing up a tire mileage warranty issue. And everyone i know is front straight back and rear criss cross to front.

 

Some tires cannot be rotated side to side as the belts lay a certain way once they are used. Make sure your tires are not this type which must continue rolling in only one direction thoughout their lifespan.
