Trollbait ... I’m not sayin’ ... I’m just sayin ... The “universal charger” originally provided by DeWalt of the late ’80’s was good for all the major name brands of the day. I spoke with my friend today and he said he used it with everyone’s batteries on site of many jobs.

I almost never bother to check Napa. They have a nearby store, have knowledgeable staff (usually) and a good array of consumables, but some things: I really don’t think they want to sell, or it’s all insurance jobs.
Just for giggles i thought to check, 12 volt battery for our 2010:

(Hey, CDN $’s, not that bad…)

the specs sound comparable to OEM, link:

Did it have the means to accommodate truly different brands, or just the ones owned by Stanley Black & Decker? Chargers were pretty basic back then. The hard part would be in getting anothers battery to fit the charger.

How did you have it secured? I need to have them securely tied or tie-wrapped.

I also need to have them suspended with hoods to deter squirrels. And metal flashing on the nearby fence to prevent squirrel acrobats and parkour experts from leaping directly over to the suet holders.

Yeah I just came to that conclusion. One on the right is tougher, with just the top flipping up.

The DeWalt “universal charger” fit and charged all different types of batteries of the day. That’s it. End of story. I’m done with any more of your sniping. We
    re finished talking.

I'd be interested in details and history too. But apparently that is another Zeppo Secret, a disallowed topic.

Just asked a friend, his memory is that it had adapters or a fitting that accommodated other brands.

I don't think such would be possible these days, with the electronics involved in the batteries and charger. Probably moot, I saw some third party replacement packs have an USB connection so they can be used as a power bank. Some could probably be charged that way.

I suspect that any "universal" charger back then was a "dumb" charger, as were many chargers of that era, that commonly toasted batteries quickly by today's standards. It took a new era of much smarter chargers to achieve better battery life expectancies.

I didn’t have any secret, or disallowed topic. I just made an original statement and then got tired of the questioning and challenges about what I said. I told you what I knew and remembered. It didn’t have any “adaptors”. I believe it just had different slots to fit different batteries. It didn’t “toast” any batteries either. The guy used it well into the late ’90’s. Some of you guys are really difficult to just have a simple conversation with.

Bought groceries today = full cart = almost $300.
I am officially tired of the US printing monopoly money.

Also officially tired of open borders where any terrorist, migrant or never do well is welcome at any time to cross. Fully support legal immigration.

Officially tired of Putin, China, Iran and North Korea laughing at the US and feeling it's okay to do whatever they want with no consequences. Fully support different countries with different philosophies working together with mutual respect for the good of all.

It would be great for a guy like Ronald Reagan to step-up and show our country and the world some leadership out of this mess.

Thank you for the space to vent!

I got along pretty well with my roommate for a few years, but he was kind of becoming less open later.

    Spelling corrected.

    While I am venting:

Also tired of getting old and making spelling mistakes as well as forgetting where I put the keys.
