hi all, my first post :), I just got my 2013 phv yesterday and noticed that the phv badge and plug badge on the boot light up with the headlights turned on. Is this a standard feature of the phv’s? I will post pictures tonight when it’s dark

That's cool! I don't think it was standard fare; might've been aftermarket or a dealer-installed accessory (I'm leaning towards aftermarket). Either way, that's a unique touch!

Nice touch! I've never seen that either. I gather you're in New Zealand. Is it maybe a made-for-Japan model? They seem to get stuff the rest of us unworthy troglodytes don't get. ;)

Congrats!!! Your location shows that you are from Aukland/New Zeland. May be its local version. Can you take few more detailed pictures of inside and outside of your vehicle? Also the sticker is showing it as an EV instead of PHV. Sounds like a beauty.

Haven't seen that feature on left hand drive PHEVs.

    All the best!

Toyota NZ has a "Prius PHV Signature" program where they import JDM-spec PiPs, replace the headunits with the local headunits (and ensure everything else is in English) and sells them as used vehicles.

Hi all, correct on all counts :). The ev sticker grants access to what we call transit lanes in New Zealand. These lanes are reserved for 2+ occupants , trucks. The Nz government classes an EV as a vehicle that can be plugged in to power . Regular non plug in prii ( is that the right term? ) cannot use these lanes. I will post pics in the newbie forum tonight after work :)

It's definitely been upgraded. We have a hard plastic dashboard (with a leaf vein motif) and we definitely don't have that soft-touch, stitched section on the upper glovebox that wraps around through the centre console. Must be a Japanese accessory.

Thanks guys, I think it’s the G spec, but there’s no hud or adaptive cruise control . We just have the L, S and G spec however I suppose there are alot of variations out there

NZ Toyota’s Signature Class program in fact imports any Toyota model / model variant not sold new in NZ, and refurbishes them “as new” to local specs. Though they are sold as “pre-owned”, they come with new vehicle warranties. They often have accessories typical of the Japanese market but omitted from NZ-new cars to keep the cost down.
Long ago, when there was local manufacturing, Toyota’s plant was, for those of you who have graced our shores, in Thames, about 100km SE of Auckland. It is now the only manufacturer-run plant left in NZ, and a valuable local employer in a small community.
