Each and every day, I park in a particular spot. Last week, decided, for some reason, not to park there. Have been parking there since I started job in September. It is a bit out from my work building, but I like to walk...no one else ever parks close.

The afternoon I did not park there, a giant tree limb crashed down, the slot was empty as were the surrounding spots, so no real harm done. If my car had been there -- pancake.

Anyway, anyone else experience this....or am I just relying too much on my West Coast New Age/Mysticism roots?

Never mind your roots ... what's the condition of your branches?

Many years ago, I drove to the library at an unusual time for me, some kid turned right in front of me at an intersection without looking, and I broadsided him. Fortunately there were no injuries and not too much damage, as I was moving only slowly at the time.

I believe the official term for this is "sh*t happens", and there's nothing you can do about it, either way.

Biggest "karma moment" I've been around involved my boss and a plane. He was supposed to be on a flight but got held up at a division of the company, missing the flight. It crashed, killing everyone on board. That plane ticket is framed and on his office wall.

    Praise the Jesus!

Thats good karma for sure - you need to find a way to repay the debt now. The next time you see a Prius at a parking meter and its out of time, throw a couple of quarters in there for the owner :)

Faith is a little more participatory than Kismet, and Karma....so I think that we can rule it out.

Put me down for 'whatever.' ;)

I'm glad that your Prius didn't get pancaked, and I'm even happier that it didn't get mushed with you inside it!

    All the best!!

Actually... you're looking at it all wrong there Bra...

The tree actually has it in for you.

Trees are notorious for taking a long time doing anything... it's timing was off... that's all.

Oh... it ain't done with you.

    Just saying.

In Oregon, previous home (and still hopeful home, if husband Kevin has not moved and left no forwarding address), we had been known to cut down a tree now and again....hmm, now I am thinking Wizard of Oz and apple trees...

Don't really like that practice, you never know where the tree will fall once it dies....and the dead trees often stand for a long period of time (years) and shed even more limbs, etal before they eventually drop....
