If you plan on programming the key fob yourself (without a professional), then you would most likely need a BRAND NEW keyfob. Programming a Used Keyfob is very complicated

The keyfobs are different....if you have SKS functions or no SKS functions.

    Amazon should sell both....around $100

What exactly is wrong with the one you want to replace?

I is kind of torn and beat up and i had suspected it might be setting off my alarm not sure if it was fob or weak 12v battery....

If you have an aftermarket alarm in the car, it would not be the Keyfob that would affect it. Most likely a 12v or another issue.

If the keyfob is just beat up and ugly looking, just put that in the drawer as the spare and start using the other one. You don't need a good looking spare....just a functional one to use in those "rare" occasions.
