Key Fob issues

So, I don't know what I did to fix the isssue, but I'd like to find out.

Basically, the key was not interacting with my car other than allowing me to turn it on. I replaced the key battery and nothing changed. I read another post about a newer prius and they said his problem had something to do with the Bluetooth his mom had messed with, so I started fiddling around with my settings. I guess something worked, because I tested it and the problem was solved, but I have no idea what I did exactly to solve the problem.

Is there anyone that has any experience with this and can tell me what happened?
