I bought my 2008 Prius last year. I was only given one key fob. My car has been running okay until today.Today I went to unlock my car with the key fob and that did not work. I changed the battery in it thinking that was the problem. Now my car won't start. I have tried to put the fob in the ignition to see if it will start or do anything. My car will not turn on, no lights or anything. Could this mean that my battery is dead?

    Welcome to PriusChat!!

Find a multimeter or voltmeter and test the 12v battery.

Or take the 12v battery down to the local autoparts jockey for a free battery test/charge.

Make sure When you changed the 12v battery that the larger white plastic plug didn’t come out of the positive terminal black Plastic/Red cover thingy.

    Circled in red.
