I just bought a used 2011 prius from a toyota dealership and noticed that both keyfobs are missing the emergency key. Is the emergency key a factory option or does it come with all keys (standard)?

Should have come with it. I would ask then to have one made for each fob. Did either have a small metal plate on the keyring? That should help them but not sure what they would have to do otherwise.

I'm thinking the VIN# on the car would be sufficient for the parts department to make the metal key. It should be attached to your key fobs, come as 1 unit.

You're welcome! Enjoy your new (to you) Prius! I've had two and really like it :)

I figured the vin would be enough but the keys come with the little tags.

Members here have reported that the emergency key needs to be laser-cut. You might be sent to a locksmith with that equipment.

Someone at the Dealership knew they were missing. They know how and should provide the missing replacements "without cost" to you. Be nice, but be firm.
