Just traded in my 2006 for a 2012. Can I use keyless entry to open the hatch or do I have to use the fob? When I touch the hatch handle, nothing happens.

    Thanks!

My son opens it when I am in the car, so I dont know if the car senses the fob or the unlocked state. I keep my fob in my pocket all the time so I dont know if I can open the back without it if the care is in an unlocked state.

The Two has just one door (driver door only) Smart Key System. To open the hatch with SKS, you need a higher trim level with the three door system.

    For 2012, check out http://www.toyota.com/t3Portal/document/om/OM47704U/pdf/sec_01-03.pdf.

On page 70 of the PDF, there are instructions on how to open all doors when you grab one handle. My Two is able to open all doors when I reach for the driver door handle, after following these steps.

If the hatch lock is released you must push up on the larger rubber rectangle under the handle for a second or so.
The smaller rubber square is for locking the hatch (actually locks all doors).

The SKS only comes into effect if the hatch is locked.

For a price, you can upgrade yours as a DIY. There are instructions/part nos, in a post in the mods section.

no. you have to hit the fob unlock twice, then open hatch with rubber covered switch.
