    Well, at least another automaker is seriously considering electric all-wheel drive. Will be interesting to see what they have to show. Hopefully more e-AWD cars show up in the coming years, which would be a big seller in snowy regions, especially once they have a decent driving range on them.

    Why the assumption that it will be a BEV? The electric term throwing people off?

    An eAWD just means that at least one of the axles is driven by a motor and not the ICE directly.It is what is on the HiHy is an eAWD, Honda calls it Sport Hybrid SH-AWD to keep inline with the traditional SH-AWD trademark, and Audi will be using it on the next A4 Quattro.     Kia already has a capable FWD hybrid system. eAWD will just require enlarging the battery and installing at least one motor for the rear wheels.
