It's been while since I had Gen3, but IIRC, Gen3 had mile/km switch button right on the dash panel just left side of the MID. But this is for the North American models. I am not sure if that button exists on Japanese model.

Geez I'd forgotten completely about that button. Just occurs to me our 2010's never crossed into the States, lol. But yeah I think I tried it once: 50 kmh becomes 30 mph, roughly, works a charm.

You change your own oil, don't you? Do you reset your Oil Maintenance Required warning???
Trip in "A", hold MPH/KPH button, press start button twice without stepping on the brake pedal???

Canadian Prius don't have that maintenance alert.

I have a feeling OP's Japanese version doesn't have either of them. It maybe fixed on km display only.
