Knocking Sound When Turning Left

    Hi all,

    I have a 07 Prius T-Spirit. Recently I had both sides inner and outer tie end rod replaced. After a week I’ve started noticing a knocking sound when turning left only. This has sometimes and sometimes it doesn’t happen at all. I’ve had the mechanic check the tie rods to make sure it is secure which it is but any idea what the issue could be? As mentioned only happens when turning left or being idle and turning the steering wheel left. Its just one knocking sound only.

    CV joint noise would be rhythmic, wouldn't occur with car stopped.

    Good point. Could it be the ball joint then?

    OP: What happens when you push down on hood on each side above the shocks?

    Nothing happens tbh. Just wondering if it would be the steering rack by any chance?

    I’ve also noticed that when I move the steering left fast the noise doesn’t occur. However, when I turn it slowly left whilst moving or stationary thats when the noise occurs.
