Good (whatever time of day it is as you read this).

I have two Gen 2 prius *(07 and 08). The 07 I have had for a couple of years, love it, but it started to rust out as well as a brake and comp issue prompted me to get an 08. The 08 works well but has a few less serious issues in which I want to cannibalize the 07 to fix up those issues in the 08.

I am wondering of any others in the Greater Lansing or Mid-Michigan area that have skill, knowledge or are talent stubborn with fixing the majority of these issues in a drive way rather than going into a shop?

    These issues are:

    In no particular order:

    1. Passenger side window (motor swap?) - window is down a cpl milimeters, whistling wind.
Noticed today drivers side window is a bit loose, too.
(may not be window, but another issue to diagnose)
    2. Drivers side door panel (Cracked plastic on switch panel)
    3. Power button green light off (fuse/bulb)?
    4. Change radio (Aftermarket in 2007 swapping out OEM in 2008) - confirm wiring is identical in 07/08.
    5. Swap 12v Battery (2007 is 6 months old)
    6. Swap Hybrid Battery (2007 is 6 months old) - Diagnose with Dr Prius app if 08 battery needs swapped.
    7. Swap Clock Spring in steering wheel, perhaps entire wheel itself (Fix Horn)
    8. Possibly swap our catalytic converter?
    9. Fix trunk rubber cover, tighten trunk lid.
    10. Look into tires and see about getting best tires for car. Maybe put winter tires on back up wheels?
    11. Use high mileage full synthetic oil on first oil change and all future changes. - DONE
    12. Check rear, spare wheel well, drivers side, passenger side, under 12v battery for water leaks?
    13. Clean ductwork from hv pack to ven fan and fan itself (clogged?)
    14. Clean maf sensor with maf sensor spray
    15. Clean throttle body with spray
    16. Change engine air filter.
    17. Clean / Replace PCV Valve
    18. P0456 - Evap System (Small Leak) - swap gas caps first, possibly get smoke test done.
    19. Cut off stripped screws on bumper on frame inside hood, replace with new.

    Thanks!

Hi there CWB - which one(s) on your list beside ( #11 oil change) would you be thinking about possibly tackling yourself, if any?
That's kinda a long list, even for a driveway mechanic to think about.

Hope you find a kind soul in your area that's willing to give ya pointers.

The following do have Youtube Vids on how to do them, though a few look to be a bit more complex than I would want to do on my own, hence looking for local. #7 I have done myself, before. #12 is just an inspection.
