A variation on the thread in the Gen II forum...

Today I picked up a couch/sofa/chesterfield from Ikea. Hatch door closed, driver side had lots of room. Passenger not so much ;)

When I had my 2006, I had something like 30-35 bags of Scotts Turf Builder Seeding Soil, 1.5 Cu Ft per bag... They were stacked to the ceiling in the back/rear seats, front seat and even on the dash passenger side! lol I only had to go about 6 miles from Lowes to my house with them but it was interesting on all city streets, no highway lol. Wish I would have taken a picture of that now...

I did a 3 x 5 foot long IKEA table + some other asst. disposible furniture one day. I've also carried 8 foot lumber and 10 foot PVC pipe before. My skis (193 cm) fit without reclining the front seat; I just moved it all the way forward.

I forgot about my dad's 37" flat screen TV. It fit in front of the back seat.

It's been in other threads - but I love this one... I just got my 2" class 3 hitch, and can't wait to take the 2010 to the dump (with the same trailer:cool:)

Edit: Rats - the 6x12 enclosed requires a 3500 lb curb weight. Looks like I'll have to stick with the 5x10.

With the front passenger seat headrest removed and seat fully reclined, then rear seats folded down (remove vs. fold passenger side rear headrest for clearance) - you can get an 8'+ load in. I've even carried 10' sections of PVC w/ the pipe resting on the front dash.

Just this week, I packed in a twin daybed disassembled + other stuff (see Dr. Who/Tardis thread).

Was that still in the box? I plan on buying one soon too.

I got rid of some old pet supplies to a dealer. Helped him load his prius with 5 Christmas tree storage tubs (20 7/8"W x 52 7/8"L x 14 1/16"H) and lids, 20 gal long aquarium, and other odds and ends. He does a lot of herp shows and removed the passenger front seat for more storage room. His strangest cargo is taking live alligators or crocodiles to rescues.

A Kayak. With the passenger seat down and one end resting on the dash, the other end kitty corner in the back.

Surely you don't have to put the back seats down to get them in

Yes, my 37" flat screen was in the box from Best Buy. I had to put the back seats flat and there was a ton a room.

Alligators? Now that's strange....oo...oo.. new movie idea. 'Gators on a Prius'

Yes, it was in the box. I could have put my seats down, but we had my dad's walker (he is 87 yrs old, 88 on 1/20) which was already in the cargo area, so I just opened the rear door and slid the box in front of the seat standing up.

Here's my biggest load in my 2010. Our move from Brevard to Charlotte. Had the 2010 loaded down with all kinds of stuff. My 42" plasma was at the bottom of it all, too. Nichole drove and averaged 69.4 MPG on the 160 mile trip.

I cannot remember exactly what all I got in the Prius, but I got some looks. It was around christmas time, I went to Menards.. I ended up with two 7.5' Christmas trees in the box, lumber, huge sheets of plastic wall-paneling and several other odds and ends. Crazy thing is, I had my mom with me, so we actually found a way to make it work with her sitting in it. I also got it all in VERY carefully because it was my new gen3 and I didn't want one scratch. hehe

Here is the box from Best Buy that held my 52" flat screen with the seats down and the hatch closed. And those Best Buy goons that wheeled it out to load it were shaking there heads like I was an idiot when I pulled up in my Prius to take it home. (I had checked online for the dimensions of the box and measured the car. 1" longer or wider and it would not have fit, 1" higher and the hatch would not have closed).
