    Homer,

Why don't you try calling DMV tomorrow morning? I sent my application 18th JAN and check was cashed on the 25th. I called DMV last week to verify and I should be receiving my stickers before Feb 5th. I don't understand why your check hasn't cleared when you sent your application before me. If the line is busy just keep trying. Good Luck!

    Cheer up man :D

Okay, i finally got through to the DMV but received bad news.

They can not locate my application/envelope/check at all. My letter was

delivered to them on the 16th but they insist they received nothing

There are no more stickers, basically, if they didn't receive your application

as of the 23rd of January you are out of luck.. Rejection letters are being mailed

    out as of today.. :(

Congrats to all that received their stickers... I ENVY YOU GUYS :p

FYI, I spoke with the Air REsources Board this morning, and they confirmed your facts. There are no more HOV Stickers available. Oh well...

I talked to the DMV and they said the last HOV sticker was issued on 1/26 and there are no more to be given out. Rejection letters are on their way out. I'm sad ... I guess I missed the cut off. :(

Honda certainly wasted no time in putting out the press release below...

NGVs aren't bound by the 85,000 HOV sticker limit, and they get FREE bridge tolls in the Bay Area. This car could be useful if you live near an NGV fueling station.

P.S. - Used NGVs can be found cheaply on Autotrader.com, Craigslist, eBay, etc. (The $4000 NGV tax credit is only for new car purchases.)

2007 Honda Natural Gas Vehicles Maintain Eligibility for
Single-Occupant Use of California High Occupancy Vehicle Lanes

Owners of Civic GX Can Still Register to Receive Single Driver
    Identification Stickers

TORRANCE, Calif., Jan. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Customers who purchase a
Honda natural gas-powered vehicle continue to be eligible for
single-occupant use of High Occupancy Vehicle (HOVs) lanes in California.

The 2007 Honda Civic GX is the only new vehicle that is eligible for
consumers to register for single occupant HOV permits (AB 2628), now that
the maximum number of 85,000 hybrid vehicle HOV permits have been issued.
Consumers should refer to the California Air Resources Board's website
    http://www.arb.ca.gov for further information.

"The single-occupant HOV permits reward consumers who purchase vehicles
that achieve the highest levels of environmental performance," said John
Mendel, senior vice president of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "Honda
continues to be a leader in producing vehicles that set the standard for
    low emissions and fuel economy."

This leadership is underscored by the fact that Honda is the most fuel
efficient car company in America according to EPA fuel economy ratings(1).
High fuel economy has always been part of Honda's strategy.

New Honda Civic GX buyers may also be eligible for a $4,000 federal tax
credit(2) when they file their tax return for the year in which the vehicle
was purchased. Additionally, buyers of the natural gas vehicle home
refueling appliance "Phill" are also eligible for up to a $1,000 tax
credit. Phill allows consumers to refuel a natural gas-powered Civic GX
from their home at a much lower fuel cost than gasoline.

Honda is currently the only manufacturer to market a natural gas
passenger car to fleet operators nationwide and directly to consumers in
the states of California and New York. The home refueling appliance "Phill"
can also be leased in conjunction with the natural gas-powered Civic GX at
certain California and New York Honda dealers.

Consumer information is available at http://www.honda.com.

    (1) Based on model year 2005 CAFE average fuel economy ratings and
weighted sales for passenger-car and light truck fleets sold in the
    U.S. by major manufacturers.

    (2) Various limitations to the credit may apply, depending on the
specific circumstances of the customer, and Honda is encouraging
customers to contact the IRS or a tax advisor to determine if and how
the tax credit will apply to their vehicle purchase or lease.

Weird thing!! I just checked my bank account and it showed the CASHED check. So I called

DMV again and checked with them. They said, my application was processed yesterday and

that I should receive a sticker in a week. I don't know who or what to believe anymore...

I hope DMV is not toying with me this time  Pray for me ! :D

Well I'll find out if the "no stickers left" thing is true. I just sent my application yesterday (1/30) and it arrived there and was picked up already today (1/31, noon). I'll see when i receive a rejection letter, or if by some miracle I get my check cashed.

Whew! My check finally cashed! I had my app returned because the idiotic dealer and their DMV issues had my transferred plates still attached to my Rover, so of course the DMV kicked back my app. When I sent it back in with an updated copy of my registration on Saturday the 20th, I had little hope that I would get stickers. But thank goodness! I can't wait until they arrive. I called the DMV this afternoon (before I found out that my check had cleared) and the lady said that they started mailing out rejection letters this Monday.

    My timeline -

    Purchased Prius: 1/6
    Mailed app: 1/9
    Received rejected app: 1/19
    Mailed out updated app: 1/20
    Check cashed: 1/31

Best wished to all that are still waiting :D

I squeaked by! My check was cashed!

    My timeline:

    1/11/2007: Bought
1/12/2007: Drove up to SF and got the FasTrak transponder
1/18/2007: Got the plates from the dealer just after noon, overnight mailed application to DMV
    1/19/2007: USPS delivered application
1/23/2007: Received DMV rejection, claiming my plate wasn't on file
1/24/2007: Overnight mailed the exact same application, unchanged back to DMV
    1/25/2007: USPS delivered application again
1/30/2007: Check showed up in my bank's records as cashed

So this is consistent with the story from others on this board that the last sticker was issued on 1/26. They must have worked through their backlog before that since mine was apparently issued even though the application didn't arrive (for the second time) until 1/25.

I'd tentatively conclude that if your application arrived 1/24 or earlier you have a very high probability of getting a sticker. If it arrived on 1/25, you have a good shot at it. If it arrived on 1/26, it's iffy, and if it arrived on 1/27 or later it's quite unlikely you'll get that sticker.

Good luck to everyone, and thanks to all who've been sharing information on this topic. It's thanks to the information I found on this board that it seems I'm assured of getting a sticker.
