    Hello,
Our 2006 gen 2 Prius has been throwing evap codes our mechanic said it needed a new leak detection pump.

How hard a job is this and are there videos or instructions out there to help? Also are there decent quality after market pumps?

    Thanks for any help
    Paul

hmm... i've never heard of it. i'm trying to think of what pump he is associating it with. sounds like emmisions, maybe there's an evaporator pump?

we usually hear about the coolant pump, inverter pump and brake actuator pump

did he give you the codes?

    HI,the codes are

P043F Evap system leak detection ref orifice high flow
P2419 Evap system leak detection switching valve control circuit low
P042E Evap system leak detection ref orifice low flow
P2402 Evap system leak detection control circuit high
P2401 Evap system leak detection control circuit low

If you look at possible solutions on a blue driver code reader they say replace leak detection pump
Mechanic came to same conclusion and wanted $600 for job equally split between parts and labor

Might chance a used or aftermarket part and wanted to see if anyone had done this job. I don't have a lift would just jack stand the car.

    Its a 2006 with 215K miles.

    Thanks for any help
