Next time use a lubricant! WD-40 isn't one, and will evaporate in short order. That said, the bulb bases are easy to remove the next time anyway. It is that back panel you've got to watch out for. And to get the bulb bases out the first time, you don't need to be strong - you just need to use pliers. This I found out the hard way too.

I think both the interior dome light replacement and the licence plate light replacement look slick! Well done guys. I'm definitely going to be adding that to my "to do" list once Winter lets up.

The dome's easy... the licence plate isn't >.< as you've probably read.

    Scarface, I think they're load-dependent.

I knew I was being to short with my question...
What I meant was, will these fade or dim out when turning off or do they blink off immediately?

    Thanks.

Surprisingly, that is also exactly what I was answering.

The cheap unregulated ones will fade out like the factory bulbs. The better, more expensive regulated units will just blink off.

I've never really figured out why people like the fade out. All I know is that nobody misses it when it is gone.

How many LEDs on the bulb

There are bulbs showing 2-6 LEDS on it. What do you guys think is reasonable for diff areas? mainly the dome lights, the cargo area lights and the door courtesy lights?

Reasonable is ONE LED. One high-output LED. 2-6 20mA LEDs will not be enough light unless you want it more dim than from the factory.

how in the heck do u remove that dome light bulb in the front?

And the map light bulb... I see a black base which looks like ur supposed to twist... should i twist that out, or just grab the bulb and pull???? How do you guys think I should go about doing this? I looked on the forums, but I didn't see anyone else having much of a problem with it, so can someone give me some insight?

If you're talking about the dome light that's in between the map lights, you just pull straight out, preferably with a tissue over the bulb so you don't leave fingerprints.

When you take of the center dome light, There are 3 bulbs in there.... Those 3 should all be pulled straight out? I will use tissue.... i forgot to use it for the others... how should i wipe off the oil?

    Yep.

shouldn't be an issue. I've taken them out with my bare hands before, it's just a precaution with the tissue. I don't think you'll leave them on for so long that the oil cracks/shatters the glass.

Wet a tissue with rubbing alcohol and clean the bulb. It is usually only important for high energy bulbs like halogens, metal halides, HIDs, etc..

Can anyone put together a list of how many of each bulb is needed. And also what colors. I think I read they suggest matching the color of the bulb to the color of the cover.

Another good site for bulbs is www.superbrightleds.com.

I just received and installed a '07 prius LED kit from EXTREMEBRIGHTLEDS on EBAY which includes 6 interior LED replacement bulbs and additional LEDS for the rear dome and trunk with the LEDS necessary for the license plate for $67.98 including shipping. They are the super white LEDS and look good. I real happy with these LEDS.

Has anyone made the mistake of not simply pulling down on the bulb, but somehow twisting it, and losing the piece up inside there? I have done so accidentally to two of the lights.. and I can't figure out how I can get them back down where they belong.. probably need to take out the whole piece.. which sounds like a nightmare.. any help from you interior light replacing experts would be much appreciated!

Does anyone know where I can get different color LEDs for the interior. Besides super white, what other colors are available out there? Thanks!
