    Hello
My left dash display where the speedometer is disappeared. We went on a road trip recently in hot hot weather and it would flash on for a few seconds.

Do you know how to fix? Thank you.

Make sure you don't have anything laying on top of the dash in front of that portion of the display. That display is projected from below the dash, and would be blocked by something laying there. Of course, this does not explain the blinking you mentioned.

do not know. There are two fuses for the display, #22 and #27. Maybe one blew and then road vibration cause the split ends to touch back together and flash? Really grasping at straws here.

Could be a cold solder joint on the display board, or a loose connector to the display board. How about at night, with the lights on. Any display then? With the dashboard lights on, rotate the dimmer through its full range a couple of times. I too begin to grasp toward thin sticks.

I would tend to agree. Cold solder joints at the board connector can cause partial or complete loss of the display. Halo cracks around the pin connectors plague some GM model trucks. Melting points of some of the lead free solders that are used now a days, contribute to the ifailure of these joints.

At this point, I would consider taking it to a dedicated speedometer repair shop. It seems that the cluster module has a bad electrical component causing your problem. After some research, It is most likely a bad circuit board. In any event, it’s a complex repair if you are not mechanically inclined.
