There are so many better battery chemistry stories. Was reading an article of why Dyson abandoned their EV project ($2B spent on development, couldn't see making a profit given projected production costs) but they hope to build a factory to build their new chemistry batteries.

The next Tesla update increases the peak rate on our SR+ Model 3 from 100 kW to 170 kW. We’ll still have to do a charge vs time chart. The biggest effect is on the Supercharger capacity.

A 20% reduction in charging session times is the same as increasing the Supercharger network by 20% ... without adding hardware or parking spots.

Assuming people move their cars when charging is complete.

.... camping in a charging stall comes at a cost. The price isn't too reasonable - so cheap skates hit the road with relative ease. It's a great plan to make people do the right thing.

I would add that when taking a trip, the best strategy is:
    • arrive with ~10 mi remaining range
    • charge and leave when it tapers off, ~60 kW, is a good goal
If someone chooses to campout at a SuperCharger stall, their problem, not mine. The idle fees sting.
