    Union of Concerned Scientists report called

    "Cleaner Cars from Cradle to Grave"

    You'll snag it easily enough. Lots of detail, incl. large effect of different electrical sources. Just as one would expect. Seem to fluff the question of what to do with big batteries. Maybe nothing has been published on that?
