When I bought my 06 I thought the floor mats and the cargo mat were all in a bundle. If I'm seeing thing correctly now you have to order them separate ?

How about All weather floor mats? There used to be two kinds of floor mats listed and now there is only one. Living in Buffalo, NY I change from carpet floor mats to rubber floor mats about this time of the year in my Gen II and this is what I hoped to do with the PHV.
Will Gen III floormats fit? Maybe I can just buy the All-weather floor mats for a regular Gen III.

 

Does anyone know if spare power plugs will be available? I was hoping to order an extra adapter with the initial order so I could leave one home in the garage and leave the other in the car. This way, I don't have to pack it up everyday.

 

Do you mean the 110V to J1772 charger?

You can get them cheaper at Home Depot than the dealer.

Do you how much Toyota is planning to charge for their charger?

 

I've read costs that vary all over the place. Then again, these same "up to date articles with inside information" often show the J1772 port on the front fender - as it was in the initial versions.

I'm pretty sure that Toyota lists the Leviton charger as a suggested charger fir the Prius. On the Leviton site, they list the price as $950. A few months ago, the price was ~$1,300!

I'd be surprised if any dealer had a price similar to one of the "big box stores". But, that's not to say that some salespeople may be willing to give a deal if it's ordered at the same time. However, from what I've seen, it'll be at least mid 2013 (~1.5 years from now) before it's likely that the dealers will come close to even charging just MSRP for the PIP.

My take is that until the "C" and "V"(minivan) versions come out, Priuses will be going for a premium. I think that the "C" will draw people that want better MPG away from the PIP. It's much cheaper, and gets better mileage that the regular Prius. However, IMHO, it's ugly to the nth degree! Otherwise, I'd also consider just going with the "C".

I noticed that someone recently got a Prius for ~$300->$500 over MSRP by going through Costco. I may try that next year with the PIP.

Also, my guess is that by summer of 2012, the price may come down on the chargers as the Chevy Volts, etc also start hitting the streets (they all use the now standard J1772 port).

 

that 240V 16A EVSE looks nice.
However, if the $999 assumes you have a 20A 240V cirucuit already to plug into, the price is still high. Not bad if they'll run a new circuit, though.

Personally I think the 220V charger is overkill on the PIP. A full charge at 110v takes only 3 hours v 1.5 hours using the 220v. spending $999, and a whole lot more if you need to run a 220V circuit into you garage, doesn make sense unless you are planning to do a lot of short distance drives each day. It doesn't make sense if you are going to primarily charge overnight since your car is going to be sitting for 8-12 hours.

 

i would like to see toyota offer some imaginative accessories for both the interior and exterior. not everyone wants to buy aftermarket. don't they do it with scion? why cant they have seat, console and floor accessories? optional cupholders, console trays, sill plates, phone clips, tail lights, grill blockers, you just have to use your imagination!

 

But then the rest of us can't follow along.........
