    Hi all,

i want to know how many of you having the same problems as me.
I had in my 17 years that i drove several TOYOTA's never a car that felt that cheap due to all these noises.
I have my PRIUS GEN III since august 2009 & 25000kms on the odo.

    My interior noises:

    Right/left dash speaker cracking
Passenger seat vibrates when nobody is in it
Point where the shift bridge meets the armrest squeeks/ticks
    Center console with speed/consumption rattles
Drivers door is making a permanent ticking sound when driving
Crackling sound when i put my elbow on the center armrest

I have had my P3 for eight-months now, and there are two annoying rattles that come and go:

1.) Point where the shift bridge meets the armrest squeeks/ticks. (could be a trend!)

2.) At, above, or behind the glove compartments.

I had my dealer take a look when I was in for service, and it couldn't "recreate" either one of them.

Will try again next oil change.

Guess I have one of the rare GIII's without any rattles, squeeks or ticks. It was built in 4/10, maybe they had more time for assembly when production was slowed. I have driven it since May and the only rattle is from the GPS bean bag mount that I transferred from the 04. The 04 had dash rattles that would come and go from time to time. I was never able to isolate them and just learned to live with them.

Unfortunately, I think it will be hard to isolate and solve these problematic rattles and ticks .

I've had mine for just 5 weeks and 1000 miles, but mine's like SeaSalsa's - no squeaks, rattles, etc. Just nice quiet smooth ride. Great car so far. 2010 P2.

When the ICE revs at a certain speed I get a buzz from the dash, but otherwise nothing unusual. Most of my cars have been American, so mebe it doesn't phase me as much!

tonneau cover.. same issue as Gen II and it only squeaks over bumps. (e.g. speed bump or turning onto a ramp such that the car's body is "twisted"

heard a tiny little tonneau cover area rattle over a hard bump, but no dash rattles in about 6 different Pri's over hundreds of miles.

    Mine are similar:

Point where the shift bridge meets the armrest squeeks/ticks. (very common)
Center console rattles under shift lever area.
Crackling sound when i put my elbow on the center armrest.

I am very happy with the Prius doing it's job of practicality. But the squeak/rattle/vibration engineering needs a lot more development.

Well, the knees make more noise than they used to, but it's more of a snap than a squeek or a tick. No rattles yet, thankfully, though I swear sometimes I can hear other people shaking their head. :p

Front driver side roof handle rattles where it is mounted to the roof.

The plus side is that the road noise is loud enough that I have to crank up the JBL to a level that effectively covers up the rattling. ha ha

I have a box of mints in the glove box which rattle from time to time. Also get the odd noise from the Prius but nothing continuous or annoying. But I do have Muse on the CD so that is probably masking several strange noises.

Oh.. where should I begin...

Mine is one of early builds but I think the problem is cause by design and material choice driven by cost cutting and weight saving.
If you have taken a door panel off, you will know what I mean. The panel is so thin and made of very hard plastic, looks very cheap to manufacture but it feels very light.

I am very peaky about interior rattle and I try to fix everyone one no matter how minor it is. But this one, I didn't even bother and just crank up the stereo.
