Hi... found this forum and it seems like a cool place ....we just traded in our 2009 Dodge journey that we bought new and bought this 2013 Prius 2 and so far we are loving the car and loving the gas mileage :)
The color is blizzard white and the first thing I plan to do is tint the windows and putting the window trim on.... I have noticed that the car has more road noise than I'm used to ....the car has 15 inch Goodyear tires which are new.... I've been reading some on the other forum post and it looks like the continental true contacts might help in that department... is there anything else that I could possibly do to help quiet down the road noise ? the other thing is the seats feel a little hard on longer trips of 100 miles or so... Are the leather seats that come on the higher end Prius better quality than the cloth seats that I have ?
    Thanks
    Dan
Ps...the car has 37000 miles and is in like new condition

    Congratulations and welcome!
I just put on a set of Continental TrueContact's and I couldn't be happier. Road noise is reduced significantly and mpg (after break-in) is just as good or better than the factory equipped tires. Just drive back from my Son's house (25 miles) and recorded 64.7 MPG on the Frwy.
As far as the seats are concerned, I put high end sheep skin covers on. Makes a heck of a difference over long trips. That's why most Airline pilots use sheepskin covers. They are cool/warm and comfortable. They work great in the Summer and Winter.

The Gen 3 Prius seats are not built for comfort, and I have the top trim level. The standard Camry seats put them to shame.

Congrats on your purchase and "Welcome to Prius Chat". I too agree the seats are not comfortable if on a long trip. Have a seat cushion I use if traveling long distances.

Best of luck to you. (y)

As for the road noise get some earplugs lol
And as for the leather seats in a gen 3 car no its not any more comfortable what you need to get are the electric seat adjuster instead of just manual.
    Welcome

faux leather is cheap, dance inside written in the back of mine all you do is slide everywhere real leather will usually have a text you that's more of an adhesive that encompasses your body but with the Prius leather it's pretty weak

I to have all the extras like, solar panels, leather, jbl sound, moonrise, heated seats but, I regret not buying or having the automatic seat adjuster on the driver side I've ridden in a new 2016 and that had it and it was so much more comfortable so I highly recommend

If you're willing to sacrifice a few mpgs, you can get rid of the LRR tires on your car for regular quieter tires. LRR tires are notorious for being melodious.

Thanks for the vote of confidence on the continental true contacts .... Those are the ones that I'm going to go for I did some research on the sheepskin covers and the ones that I saw on eBay and Amazon I did not like the looks from the picture:( you mind telling me where you found yours ?

Because Florida is so flat....we get better gas mileage;)

I bought my Sheepskin covers locally at Mike's Canvas. I've been dealing with him forever. You can Google it. Be prepared to pay in the range of $350 for genuine New Zealand wool covers. They are worth it

Thanks...looked him up...for that price point he is offering semi custom with custom fit almost double the price...at $639
Is the semi custom the covers you got ? If so are you happy with the fit ? Thinking the beige color would go with my interior...

...Re: +MPG...furthermore no EPA reformulated gasoline in Florida, which probably means a bit better MPG, because RFG is basically a lower energy content formulation.

    So we have:
    Flat
    Warm
    Good Gaso

If you don't get 50 MPG, turn in your badge.

I opted for the semi custom full covers (no headrest). They fit nice and snug with no wrinkling.
