I took off the smaller timing chain when disassembling the the bottom half of the engine, now I can't find anything on timing it again. I believe it's the counterbalance gear but could be wrong. Please help!

Isn't that for the oil pump? Why would it need timing?

It's the oil pump. Wondering why on earth the oil pump needs to be timed has been kind of a running gag around here for a while. As far as I can tell, nobody knows.
