Have a 2017 Prius 4. Dealer wants 680 to change the coolants. I am at @114K miles and they say it is overdue. Seems like a lot. I would like to see the instructions and the few videos I could find were for earlier years or a prime or they seemed very lacking with omitted details.

    Thanks.

IIRC Toyota USA says 100k miles (or 10 years) for engine coolant, 150k (or 15 years) for inverter coolant, and 50k miles (or 5 years) for both thereafter. FWIW, Toyota Canada says 100k miles (or 10 years) for both.

I’ll post a spreadsheet summary of US schedule in a bit. <Done

Attached are repair manual excerpts for both changes.

$680????? HOLY CRAP! I called my dealer for price on just a drain and fill transmission fluid...$315!

I changed all fluids in my wife's 2017 last summer....unbelievably easy. Hardest part was refilling the transmission (I hate those little pump bottles...always ends up making a mess.) So, instead, I used a 3-foot tube I held above the engine bay and my wife watched underneath and told me when it was leaking out...put a new gasket on the drain/fill bolts, and done.

I change transmission fluid and coolant on our cars/trucks every 50,000 miles or 5-years.

Did the same thing, 'cept I was downstairs...

Didn't even consider a pump; funnel and hose is as reliable as gravity.
