Looking for Previous owner 2013 Plug-in 1st Gen. in New York

    Hi there.
    I ordered car from Iaai.com here is the vin and link: JTDKN3DP7D3042950 Toyota Prius Plug-In 2013 Silver 1.8L vin: JTDKN3DP7D3042950 free car history


    i have a few questions about it. It was driven in New York, should i wait rust underneath it? or on the chases?
    car received all the service in new york, from 2016 in Williston Park , New York. maybe he/she lived near that place. car has 72K miles

    The picture does not seem to show the "Severe Damage" reported, at least not on the front side. Do you know how bad it is? Certainly, since it is a totaled vehicle by US standard, it would require a lot of repair to get it going again. I just hope the traction battery is still good. Since the damage is not in the front, it is probably on the rear where the traction battery is located under the deck.

    Edit: I found more photo of the vehicle in the link. Yeah, the damage is at the left rear. Estimated repair cost of $10067 in the US. Ouch!

    fortunately I am not in US. Repair cost for body counted paint job is 250-350$, i am going to change both tail lights and will set standard gen 3rd taillights- 100$ for both oem .i will sell my left tail light for the same amount (100$), rear bumper-from Taiwan- 70$, trunk glass 35$. i dont know what is wrong around batteries place. i am waiting another photos when they load my car in container. i think 700$ would be enough to get this car ready to drive. the car does not show cluster, i think there is something wrong with 12v battery.
    car has 72K miles and looks fresh . in total i have to pay 6000$ to get this car ready to drive. it is it's first accident according to carfax

    sounds like a pretty good deal, as long as there aren't any shoddy repairs that come back to haunt you. especially in the electrical systems

    Something to consider is that the rear hatch is aluminium, and could be difficult to repair if it's bent out of shape (it looks like it is) - most car bodyshops only really have experience working with steel, which is quite different to work with.

    what place do u call hatch? left side? it is not aluminium as i know, and there are plenty of priuses in Georgia with much bigger damages. my repairman said that it is repairable, 10 days labour.

    the hatch is the rear lift gate with windows and spoiler. when mine was dented, they installed a new one.

    rear hatch is not damaged. window is not damaged. i will be more informed when i get more pictures from the sea port.

    It's hard to tell with the damage to the rear left corner and the rear bumper, as nothing at the back of the car lines up properly, but seeing as the lower pane of glass in the hatch (tailgate, etc.) is missing it's possible the glass shattered from deformation.

    I am quite certain the Gen 3 tailgate is aluminium.

    you are right, i understand badly. trunk/tail gate is aluminium. i thought u were talking about left wing which is mostly damaged.

    Green? DRLs are white lights. I believe US spec Plug-ins have them fitted as standard.

    Yes, it should have LED DRLs in that location.

    it is base model, without leather, power seats, no acc, no Lkas, no JBL, only heated seats and back up camera

    and what about rust under the car? does it happen often? I hate cars with rust :)) hope it will be as clear as it is possible from that State

    there is surface rust on most everything. some take off the aero panels and coat everything with a product i've forgotten, but is in some threads here.

    i haven't read much where the rust becomes a real problem, going back to 2004.
