Our local mail delivery car is a GenII Prius with a somewhat clunky right hand drive conversion. It has lately been in an accident. Still on the road, but the owner is looking for another car since I think the insurance is going to pay.

Does anyone have any ideas for locating a suitable RHD Prius to ship over to Hawaii? There are possibilities in Japan, but shipping is likely too much. West Coast shipping is more reasonable.

It is not possible to import a Prius or any other relatively modern vehicle not originally manufactured for North America, because such vehicle would not be certified to meet US DOT and EPA requirements and therefore will not have the stickers attesting to such. These requirements apply to any automobile which is 25 years of age or less.
