    Is Leeds bicycle country ?
That would be my choice if I lived 7 miles from work.

It is virtually impossible to hire a gen3 Prius for a weekend in the UK (I tried to do this). It is hard enough buying one :D but you can get an extended test drive of a few hours which could be enough.

But you are right. You can get other cars which do high MPG but they are not a big as a Prius. Depends what you want. For a daily commute a small car would be OK but for a family car you need something with a bit of room.

I always smile when the USA members talk about the Prius being a small car! What would they make of an IQ?

My Toyota dealer has given me a test drive tomorrow from 9am Saturday until 4pm Sunday - so I am test driving a Gen III T4 with IPA, Sat Nav etc
    :)

That's pretty good. You might want to give the satnav a test. Over on the UK Toyota blog, there are lots of complaints about it. And the ipod integration.

Not an issue for me. I've no ipod and I have a tomtom :)

    Sorry, what thread was that?

Deffo want to play with the Sat Nav. My wife has an iPhone 3G - could test the music linking... :D

Wanted to test the hands free calling, but don't want it copying over my contacts to the test car's computer!

Well you can pair your phone with the test car without downloading your contacts. Then to call just do what you would usually do (dial from your phone), the call will be handled by the car.
That's what I did during my test drive.

Did any of you manage to get the dealer to knock money off the car or throw in free things?

    Thanks guys!

Managed to get the dealer to go down to £20,870 inc metallic paint for a T-Spirit... but then they are trying to add £500 on for the VAT increase as the car wont be delivered until the Feb 2nd!

Unfortunately, that is how VAT works. It is applied at the point (date) of delivery. Not the dealer's fault. Had this been a year ago, you would be looking at paying less due the the VAT rate being lowered after you ordered. Win some lose some.

    A tip

If you don't get Nav, you cannot bluetooth music. You can still connect via bluetooth to make phone calls, assuming you have bought the bluetooth option.
