Hello fellow Prius owners! I'm looking to buy a new car and have decided I want a Prius. I love the look of the 2010 or newer models. I'm also open to a Gen 2. Currently I drive a 2000 Buick Lesabre so this will be quite an upgrade. I would love your advice on some things to look for / avoid. My biggest concern is replacing the battery. Thanks for your help!

welcome! i suppose it will come down to what is available in your price range. you will pay a hybrid premium in cali, over a non hybrid which means older.more miles/ lower option package.

in cali, you are covered by a 10 year, 150,000 mile warranty on the hybrid system. so depending on how long you want to keep it, and how many miles a year you drive, you can calculate backward.

i like to start my search by driving a new one, so i have something to compare to.
all the best in your search!(y)

There may still be some inventory on the 2015 models, maybe you can grab a deal on those?

What price range are you looking? I think a lot of good cars started around 12K+. By good cars, I mean you can run trouble free for several years. May be starting 2012, and 40-50K milage and warranty for hybrid.

If the guy "open for gen2", then may be he is not willing to go for a new car.

My apologies for not being able to determine someone's financial net worth.

It's just my speculations!:) I'd love to buy a new 2015, which is really a bargain!
