How are you getting on with these? Tempted to get them but can't find a good price here in Ireland. May have to go for the Hankook's for this time.

I mounted them yesterday, winter just didn't want to say goodbye it was still snowing on Tuesday. On my way to work it was raining quite heavily at 2°C and I must say the tyres were holding really good, but I didn't exactly try to slide sideways.
Rolling resistance, I can't really say, I didn't check the tyre pressure yet, I have a feeling that now they are at around 2.2 bar, no more. I will pump them up to 2.7. Hope I will see some results after couple of months driving (will report after summer).

So far so good, I hope they will hold a little longer than OEM Bridgestone's.

Remember that it usually takes a couple thousand miles to see their true colors. They need at least 500 miles to cure.

    I have the Hankook K115's.
    Only 400 km's yet.
FE is better now but higher temps will help too.

When I changed over from stock Yokohama Avid tires, 195x65x15, and installed Michelin Energy Saver
AS tires I noticed an immediate improvement in mpg at least 2-3 mpg more.

I don't believe there is another tire on earth that rolls better than the Energy Saver AS tire....

Yes there is, but not available to you yet in the US. The Bridgestone Ecopia 001s.

Aye. The Bridgestone Ecopia EP100 was very very close to the efficiency of the Energy Saver A/S such that errors in the test could have changed the winner. That tire was phased out. 4yrs later I would assume Bridgestone has bested the efficiency of that older tire with the new Ecopia EP001s. I can't wait to see what they come out with for the U.S. market con dieting the EP422 rated poorly by Consumer Reports and most people knock it for poor handling despite good fuel economy and comfort.

I tried the EP 422 tires. I returned them to Costco during the 30 day money back guarantee period.
The mpg's were not as good as the Energy Saver AS, also at high speed 65-75 mph I noticed they
appeared to drift as if there was a side wind hitting the car. I went back to the Energy Saver AS tires for another few bucks more and never looked back....

Comparing tyres for different markets (and thus different conditions - traffic, warranties, noise pollution, climate) is like comparing chalk and cheese.

The thread is about European low rolling resistance tyres and the new European tyre rating system.

The Michelin Energy Savers have a B label for FE, like my Hankooks.
The Ecopia EP100....... I can't find much info on them.....
    The Ecopia EP150 has a C label. But that's a different tire.

Alfon was talking about the Energy Saver A/S. The EU doesn't have a tire like it. The EP100 was also a North American tire only.

Additionally, as John has observed, sometimes the tires have a different RR rating in different sizes. :)

Michelin use the "energy saver" name on a range of tyres with varying RR ratings and wet grip. So the energy saver label on it's own does not translate into the lowest RR or best wet grip.

To be fair non are poorly rated, but to get the best Michelin tyre for the EU market rated B-A (RR-Wet grip) choose carefully.

I run Hankooks myself and find them a very good tyre. I am running the Kinergy Eco 425 also rated BB. I have 18,000 miles on them and at the present rate of ware they look good for at leased 40,000 miles.

Just updated the tyre list for 195/65/15 tyres with a new Kumho KH27 tyre rated A B at 67db. Ware rate unknown but very good on paper for a budget tyre.

Just added the new Dunlop Sport Blue Response tyres to the LRR lists in sizes :-

    195/65/15
    195/55/16
    205/55/16

These tyre are all rated at B for RR and A for wet grip and one of the quietest tyres at 68db.
Just to reiterate information on price in previous posts. The 205/55/16 size is over £23 cheaper each tyre (25%) than the 195/55/16 in the Dunlop range.

Thank you for your kind offer.
I think I will not go for aftermarket wheels for Prii, I will stay with stock wheels.

Looks like kinergy's are sold out at the place where I was looking at.

This model is still in stock (I like the pattern)

    Hankook Ventus Prime2 K115 banden

I was bit concerned about the weight of these tyres but considering reviews and spec's it seems to be some tyre for the money...

Agape, be careful when choosing the Ventus Prime 2 K115 tyre. There is only one size and rating that is BB rated this is the 205/55/16 load rating 94 speed rating W. This is an XL rated tyre, probably ideal for the extra weight of your gas conversion, all the others in 205's or 195's are rated C,E,orF for rolling resistance, and will decrease your fuel economy.
