Meh, with traffic the way it is, you can’t really enjoy those rides:p.

But soft, cooled seats and a good sound system can be enjoyed any time(y).

Rub it in, har, har. But I do find empty spots on certain roads, where I still can have the enjoyment of a good handling car, even if it now is a Prime! I'll forever be hoping for that Superleggera Prime Super Coupe... Silly optimist.

Yeah, but I have "trust issues" with manufacturers other than Toyota or Honda.
I'm also a very conservative chicken regarding a pure electric vehicle; for me it's got to be a long range plugin hybrid.
You know a Citroen sports car would be too cool; my fellow frogs (snails?), really know how to make comfortable, well-engineered automobiles, far better than the krauts. Too bad they're not established here in the States; they'd be perfect for American heinies!

Going back to "LRR hype" topic, if you go to TireRack for Tire Decision Guide, they don't even have "Fuel Economy" as a selection criteria. AFAIK, TireRack is the only place I can filter tire selections by "Eco Focus". I think they use to call this LRR tires, but they no longer do that. I have not seen any other tire place that really allow a buyer to select LRR tires. According to TireRack, "Tires with an eco-focus are designed to conserve natural resources through methods such as improved fuel economy, long tread life and environmentally-conscious manufacturing techniques." So, it is not exclusively LRR tires in this category. Maybe push for LRR and fuel efficiency are getting less of attention from marketing point of view.

BTW, if you use this selection guide and check every category as most important. You get following recommendation. I am tempted to try Riken Raptor HR or Vredstein Quatrac 5 as my next summer tires.

Holy s***! Ouch! I hope the people in the vehicle are ok! I've seen several "flippers" out here on the freeways; they think because they're big and fat, nothing can hurt them. They need to learn about "center of gravity".
At least he has a spare tire! I wonder if it's an LRR?

There was no mention of injuries in that one. Sunday I did go around a fatality investigation that had also been run into by a semi 40 minutes after the original accident.

Saw one of those up close and personal in late March 2009 on I-75 in Florida. State Police were escorting an over size load south bound four or five exits around two in the morning. Speeds were in the 20-25 mph range, raining and this idiot in a Yukon thought he'd jump a few spots in the line. Well I was three cars behind the trailing FL Highway Patrol and all of a sudden this black Yukon jumps on the accelerator coming up the shoulder on my right. Just as he got beside me he starts to lose it. All I see is the back end kick out and he over corrects and I see head lights aimed right at my front passenger door and he recorrects again and the truck slides off the shoulder and that was the beginning of the triple roll.

I looked the next day for any reports in the media around the area he wrecked and didn't see anything. I figured he had to be drinking to pull such a bone head move.

Those wrecks are almost always the result of stupid. You'd think they'd have made a difference in the gene pool by now.

That is what I determined when I was looking for them. Although many places still showed them, They were not in stock and not available from distribution. The T+H is a higher speed rating and price as well as having a shorter advertised tread life. I too am guessing that RR would increase.

My Volt came with GY Assurance Fuel Max tires, which are LRR tires. I liked them so much, I just had them replaced after 51,000 with the same thing. The tire changer told me I could have gotten another 5,000 out of the old ones, but I didn't want to take a chance.

Chasing after the old Defenders, you may be getting old tires as well. I'd pass on anything older than 2 years. Google how to read tire date code.

    I'm not sold on Michelin LRR tires. My 2012 Prius v came with LRR Michelins. I had only 20k on them. The sidewalls rotted and cracked after 3 years and the sipes between the tread started to crack after 5. I replaced the with Bridgestone Ecopia 422 plus.;

Even if Michelin USA Headquarters is down the street from me, I chose their competitor.

Which is why I won't use Michelin tires anymore. Both time I put new ones on my cars and both times the sidewalls rotted and cracked early on.

What specific Michelin? Premier? Energy Saver A/S? Defender T+H?
