Lubricating Ball Joints

    Does anybody know what it means when the dealership says they are Lubricating Ball Joints every 5000 miles? That's the only thing I'm not doing every 5000 miles.

    I don't know how that is possible without grease fittings on the ball joints. That is something that might have been done 30 - 40 years ago, but most reasonably modern vehicles have sealed ball joints and no way to grease them.

    How much do they charge for this service?

    I think they might be fishing for more $$$ out of your wallet;).

    Best to avoid them in general going forward (y).

    Yeah more likely just checking them. There's no old-school grease nipples. And I'd suspect a lot of places are JUST ticking a box for the inspection.
